Massage therapy

Massage is a form of manual therapy that includes holding, moving and applying pressure to the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia (connective tissue around organs). Massage is perhaps one of the oldest healing traditions used by many ancient peoples including the Ancient Greeks, Chinese, and Indians who used massage to treat a variety of ailments.

RELAXING MASSAGE

Relaxation massage is a smooth, gentle treatment that relieves muscular tension, increases circulation and promotes a general sense of relaxation.

THERAPEUTIC DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

It is a massage technique that involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle.
It may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation. Deep tissue massage helps to treat muscle pain and reduce stiffness.

CUSTOMISED AROMATHERAPY MASSAGE.

Aromatherapy is a specific type of therapy that incorporates the use of scented essential oils into a massage. The massage involves alternating between gentle and harder pressure while using a specific blend of essential oils of your own choice. Not only is the client’s body benefiting with the direct contact with the essential oils, but the oils are alleged to have specific healing properties upon inhaling after exposure. Choose from: lavender, jasmine, lemon.

HOT STONE MASSAGE.

A hot stone massage is a type of massage therapy, used to relax and ease tense muscles, and damaged soft tissues throughout your body. Smooth, flat, heated stones are placed on specific parts of your body during a hot stone massage. The stones are usually made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock that retains heat. Hot stone massage relieves muscle tension and pain by reducing muscle spasms and increasing flexibility and range of motion.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE

Lymphatic drainage massage, also known as manual lymphatic drainage, relieves swelling that happens when medical treatment or illness blocks your lymphatic system. Manual lymphatic drainage involves gently manipulating specific areas of your body to help lymph move to an area with working lymph vessels. This massage is a two-step process:

  1. Clearing. This step releases lymphatic fluid in your
    tissues.
  2. Reabsorption. This step moves your lymphatic fluid to
    your lymph nodes.
    IMPORTANT! Lymphatic drainage massage is a safe
    treatment to relieve lymphedema.

There are some conditions and circumstances where lymphatic drainage massage is not recommended:

  • You have a heart condition.
  • You have kidney failure.
  • You have blood clots.
  • You have an infection.

ANTI – CELLULITE MASSAGE.

It is a special massage modality designed specifically to target cellulite and help with the reduction and elimination of cellulite on the affected areas. Anti – cellulite massage affects the breaking down of fat build up and strengthening connective tissue at the affected areas and increasing blood circulation. This type of massage has been specifically designed to eliminate cellulite over a period of continued therapy. As with other massage therapy modules the focus is on increasing blood flow to the affected area and to reduce fluid build up. However, the experienced anti-cellulite massage therapist includes special massage techniques to massage the bulging fat and then to knead the muscles and “roll” the bulging fat away.

PREGNANCY MASSAGE

A Pregnancy massage is the perfect way to feel a little more comfortable while pregnant by soothing any aches and pains that you may have. Massage during pregnancy will always be performed in a position that is comfortable to the customer.

REFLEXOLOGY MASSAGE

During a Reflexology massage, reflex points on the foot are subjected to gentle pressure. Each of these points is said to be connected to a specific part of the body, including internal organs. The aim of the therapy is to reduce stress while alleviating minor ailments.

CHILDREN’S MASSAGE

A regular massage can improve the nervous system, concentration, social skills; increase self-confidence, self-awareness and self-esteem and the brain of a child. Massage improves alertness, mobility, strength and makes children freshen up to gain new ideas.

BACK AND/OR LEGS MASSAGE

Back massage can relief pain, helps with muscle tension and stiffness. Helps to reduce tension in a lower back, shoulders or neck area. Legs massage helps to activate blood circulation, lymphatic system, relieves muscle tension.
